Repeat Prescription Procedure |
| |
Guidance for Patients
- All patients on repeat medication
prescribed by a previous practice must
make an appointment with a Dr or
Practice Nurse.
- Repeat prescriptions have a tear-off
slip which lists the repeat medication
you are taking. Please keep this slip in
a safe place and use it to request your
next supply of repeat medication.
- Please give the practice a minimum
of 48 hours notice prior to collecting
your repeat prescription.
- Lost prescriptions will be reprinted
at the discretion of the Doctor.
- Prescription items of an addictive
nature will not be replaced.
- Patients on long term medication can
arrange with a local pharmacist for the
prescription to be picked up and
dispensed. Reception can provide you
with more information on this service.
- Patients taking oral contraception
will not be issued with a repeat
prescription unless they have had their
blood pressure checked. There is a daily
‘Drop in Clinic’ between 11.00 – 11.40
a.m. If this is not convenient,
appointments can be made with the
practice nurse at any other time.
- When collecting your prescription
you may be asked to provide identity.
You will be asked to check that all
items requested have been issued. You
are advised to do so before leaving the
premises.
- Prescription requests will not be
taken over the telephone.
- Please place all prescription
requests in the box provided at
reception. If you cannot deliver it by
hand, we will accept postal requests as
long as a stamped addressed envelope in
enclosed.
- The practice will accept faxed
requests on 20388771.
- The practice is closed on Bank
Holidays and you are advised to order
your repeat medication in plenty of
time.
